Design requirements gathering for a platform to help a PWC financial modeling team in their workflow. The research and deliverables followed the insights captured in a discovery workshop, the team ran as part of a sprint 0 project.
Goal
The platform had to cater to different personas within the finance team, providing a user-friendly way to set up models, run scenario simulations, analyse results, and generate reports for approval. The ultimate goal was to empower users to efficiently manage complex financial models while maintaining clarity and ease of use.
User Personas
Based on the insights captured in the discovery workshop, I created three key personas to represent different user types within the finance team, detailing their role, tasks, goals, and pain points with how they currently do things.
Conclusion
Recommended Features Other potential key features identified such as the model setup, scenario comparison dashboard, and approval process. Intuitive Dashboards: Easy navigation and access to key financial variables and data inputs. Real-Time Collaboration: Built-in features for version control and team feedback. Data Visualisation: Charts, graphs, and sensitivity analysis tools to simplify complex financial information. Approval Workflows: Clear, actionable steps for report finalisation and senior management approvals. These were then broken down into features, prioritized, and categorised for further discovery.
